I run it as a mesmer with mostly sin skills. Don't even need Shadow Form to run the luxon areas, even for hard mode.

it's really simple and yields a lot of chests.

The reason why you don't want to run shadow form is because there are a ton of hex removals that are able to remove shadow form. As stated above, bring a hex removal though because binding chains sucks..

I thought Dragon Staves dropped out of Raisu. As for Bo, most any place in the city works, but it needs to be in HM. Also it'll be rare. It might not be chests and only mobs, but I"m pretty sure they have a chance to drop from chests.

I say Secret Lair of the Snowmen NM is FTW, aslong as your rank is below 8. You get the same chance of Lockpick drops, Better retention/Higher unlucky from break and the ennemies go down slightly faster. If you really need the reputation and are above rank 8 go HM. Same lockpick drop and ennemies really arent much harder but lockpick rention is slightly lower and lower unlucky.

Go as yourself with 2-3 monks for speed and 5-6 Minion Masters and watch the minions fly, there sure are enough corpses lol

Heh, LOL 10 birds!!! I liek it! I only got 1 lockpick drop today so far, in the first 5 minutes (4 hours later, nada...) - so 2.5 times ZERO is ZERO.

A nice solo build that can kill all fast would be good, but I can't seem to find anything even semi-decent that will pull that dwarf to the final room solo.

I can do NM with 3 hero and 1 hench (couldn't quite cut it w/o hench =( ), but the drops SUXORED. All chests dropped purples, the whites are 15-25g ID'd (and salvage into 2-3), and the endchest drops 2 items. So I recommend not wasting time on NM, as HM gives nice chests (80% golds), whites worth 60-100, and 4 items at end chest (and ~2x rep).

I did the following 3hero/3hench build HM, literally swept to the end a few times without any issues, as mobs dropped like flies in liquid nitrogen - no need to flag hero/hench, primary limiter was walking speed ([charge] would be nice, or something similar). I think this build could be improved to 3hero/2hench, as I ran a few times without any players ever coming close to death (remove [death pact signet]). I ran ASSN as [barrage] ranger (use LONGBOW, mine was sundering of enchanting):

I think I can drop to 3hero/2hench (6 total) by eliminating the earth hench, and somehow using [save yourselves] - but that requires a warrior or ranger with [barrage].

I used a longbow, as originally I had an ASSN melee build which just got auto-target-slaughtered while running into melee range... Maybe [hundred blades] pays off here...

I also left out [splinter weapon], which might somehow occupy one of the [death pact signet] slots...

EDIT: Ignore this - I used the same ASSN [barrage] build with 3 heros listed above, and only brought healer/prot hench (6 total). Cleared a few times, no slower than with earth hench (7 total), but slightly tricky right at first (meat shield build). No lockpicks, and the drops didn't seem much better than you'd get with 8 total...

I got a q12 fire dragon staff today farming faction in Mount Qinkai, right outside Breaker Hollow Luxon, in HM.

In 8 1/2 hours i have gotten 3 lockpicks running snow cave.
One of my guildies has 34 picks from raptor farm, time to go into solo mode.

Agreed, hardcore runs killing 34 raptors every minute seem best to tease out lockpicks (1.2k min price).

It does seem that the drop rate is pretty low. Been doing raptor farming off and on for several hours and have only seen one drop.

Lockpick droprate has to be quite low, they're like 1plat bars drops or better, and chests are meant to be mainly a goldsink.

Very strange: 30mins of HM raptor farming this morning and 3 picks! (plus a white dye and a few goldies) And yesterday night 3 failed UW PUGs for one ecto!

yea i vanquished 5 zones? today and got 2 lockpics. they need to make the drop rate that they are right now be permanent and then make this weekend X2 that because the drop rate hasnt improved imo. ( it feels like it didnt get increased at all mainly because on Monday me and a friend vanquish all of the Christal desert and i got more lockpics in one zone there then i have clearing 5 zones in nightfall during this weekend )

Did 2 FoW runs last night (1 with alliance and 1 with just our guild) and we must have seen at least a dozen LP's drop between the two runs.

Sadly, I was dc'ed right as we were completing the last quest on the second run. Tried to reconnect but then I got a 007 error, followed by a weird 004 error. ><
